This beautiful detached house is located in the private - nature reserve De Hooge Heide. The house was built in 1937 on an Ice Age parabolic dune - hence the name Bovenhuis. The house has the most beautiful view imaginable. It is a comfortable and special house, with the appearance of an old hunting lodge, completely surrounded by forest and heathland. This magnificent place is a must experience. This house is the perfect hide-away for a stay for two. It is also great for a family with two or three children, or a group of four adults. Dogs are welcome if well-behaved and under roll call due to the wildlife around the house. Cats and other pets are not allowed. There is no fence or fencing. The house is not suitable for the disabled because of the stairs. After booking you will receive the manual of the house. For booking requests for 5 people and / or with 2 dogs please first contact via chat. 5 people is only possible for 2 adults and 3 children.
Nature and surroundings
The detached Upper House has been in the family for nearly a century and we would like to carefully manage it for future generations. We ask tenants to treat the environment and property with care. We also expect tenants to have an affinity with and understanding of nature and the environment without disturbing it. De Hooge Heide is a wonderful base for hiking, biking, mountain biking or bushcrafting, with 8 acres of private property. De Hooge Heide is located amidst a multitude of hiking and biking/mountain biking trails. You will also be able to spot wildlife on the Hooge Heide: red deer, roe deer, boars and the occasional badger or fox can often be seen. From the Upper House you have an unparalleled view of the heath and the forest edge behind. You can regularly see deer, roe deer and boar crossing here, or drinking at the little pond in the evening. Music and fire are not allowed outside due to the remote location and nearby wildlife.
