This nature house is a true family home. Grandfather and Grandmother had the house built in 1917 as a vacation home. Grandfather was a professor in Utrecht, and Grandmother was one of the first women in the Netherlands to earn a medical degree. Back then, they spent the entire summer there with their family. The house is still used extensively by the family and is actually occupied year-round. We rent it out for a few weeks each year. We currently rent the house to a maximum of 4 adults. Downstairs, you’ll find the utility room, kitchen, shower, living room with a fireplace, and dining room. There is also a bedroom downstairs with a bunk bed and a sink. On the first floor, you’ll find three more bedrooms: one with a double bed, one with two single beds, and a small single bedroom. A travel cot with a mattress is available for small children. The house is completely detached. There is a patio and a large garden.
Nature and surroundings
The nature house is located in the Kroondomein in the Veluwe. Just a stone’s throw away, you can head into the woods for a walk or a bike ride. By car, you can reach Kootwijk or Hoog Buurloo in 10 minutes. A few minutes’ drive from the house is the Aardhuis Wildlife Park. De Hoge Veluwe National Park is about a 15-minute drive away; there, you can bike and hike and visit the Kröller-Müller Museum or Sint Hubertus Hunting Lodge.
