Nature house in Lievelde

This unique nature house is located between Groenlo and Winterswijk, near the Korenburgerveen nature reserve. The house is nestled between two old oak trees, stands alone, and offers a beautiful, unobstructed view with plenty of privacy. Come relax and live like a king in the Achterhoek. Unwind by the campfire or cozy up to the wood stove with a glass of wine or a cold Grolsch. You’ll have a large private garden with a patio, fire pit, outdoor bathtub, pizza oven, and—upon request—a hot tub and Finnish outdoor sauna with a view. There’s also a swimming pool (May–Oct), a bocce court, an outdoor kitchen, plenty of space, scenic views, and a trampoline. A paradise for guests of all ages! The cottage is tastefully decorated, and the open kitchen is fully equipped. The beds are made, and towels are provided. Inside, you can play darts, shuffleboard, and enjoy a variety of board games. Through the barn windows, you can look out over the wooded landscape teeming with bats, roe deer, foxes, and owls! Firewood is included, and a vintage tandem bike is available for you to use free of charge.

The peatlands begin at the end of the street. The vast Korenburgerveen is located in an area where you can enjoy wandering through a historic farmland landscape with beautiful forests, streams, heathland, and raised bogs. Last spring, even cranes nested here. From the nature house, you can ride the free tandem bike through the peat bog to the charming town of Winterswijk. Other fun places within biking distance include Groenlo, Lichtenvoorde, Aalten, and the book town of Bredevoort. Within driving distance are Zutphen, Doetinchem, Enschede, and, of course, Arnhem. You’ll find even more beautiful nature in the area at the quarry near Winterswijk, where an eagle owl sometimes nests; the Het Hilgelo recreation area (great for swimming); and at the Leemputten, where you can also enjoy pedal boating and an old-fashioned playground. Also fun: the new indoor amusement park Bommelwereld is just around the corner.
