The nature house was sustainably built using locally sourced oak and is heated by solar panels, a heat pump (which also provides air conditioning), or a wood stove. The owners fell in love with this unspoiled area forty years ago and started an organic farm here. Located 800 meters from the farm is this gîte (130 m²) with a playroom and garage. The gîte was handcrafted by the owners themselves: from the sturdy trusses, the roof, and the exterior walls to various pieces of furniture. Inside, you’ll enjoy a natural travertine floor with comfortable underfloor heating; outside, a fenced-in garden of 1,000 m² awaits, offering sweeping views. The property is suitable for all ages; baby amenities are available upon request. Dogs are welcome (up to two; more upon request). Experience pure tranquility and the great outdoors in a unique setting created with love and craftsmanship.

This nature house is located on the Plateau de l’Artense, an unspoiled area covering 455 km² at an elevation of 600 to 1,000 meters. This paradise for nature lovers takes you along numerous trails through forests and meadows, past centuries-old rocky paths, moss-covered walls, and streams, all the way to the Sancy mountain range. The area is densely forested with beech, pine, and oak trees, which support a rich variety of wildlife. With a bit of luck, you might spot red deer, roe deer, wild boars, badgers, and birds of prey such as the red kite and the buzzard. For active guests, there’s plenty to do: from biking, swimming, climbing, and horseback riding in the summer to skiing in the winter. Culture lovers will be delighted by the region’s ancient Romanesque churches and castles. Although the plateau is made of granite, the Auvergne is a volcanic region. In the northeast, rising among the mountains, is the Puy de Sancy (1,886 m)—the highest volcano in France. Of course, you can also simply stay at the cottage to enjoy nature in peace and quiet.
