Nature house in Châtillon-sur-Saone

A beautiful, playfully remodeled and tastefully decorated house equipped with all amenities. A beautiful terraced garden with a multitude of plants and flowers, laid out against the slope behind the house. A very helpful, alert and easily accessible landlord. Point to note for people like us who appreciate visiting the toilet at night, as you sleep upstairs and the toilet is downstairs the spiral staircase can be a challenge at night.

Een mooi, speels verbouwd en smaakvol ingericht huis voorzien van alle gemakken. Een schitterende terrassentuin met een veelheid aan planten en bloemen, aangelegd tegen de helling achter de woning. Een zeer behulpzame, alerte en goed bereikbare verhuurder. Puntje van aandacht voor mensen zoals wij, die 's nachts een toiletbezoek op prijs stellen, omdat je boven slaapt en de toilet beneden is kan de wenteltrap 's nachts een uitdaging zijn.

Nice and spacious house with a large bedroom. All the amenities are there and it is more than fully furnished. The bathroom is on the cramped side and the stairs to the upper floor require a steady stride. The strongest point of the house is the wonderful garden. Next to the house you have a comfortable sitting area on a lawn and behind the house the garden is terraced against a rock wall allowing you to sit at different levels. Our favorite spot was a rocking bench overlooking the valley. Fons is a good host with whom contact is pleasant and easy.

Lekker ruim huis met een grote slaapkamer. Alle voorzieningen zijn aanwezig en het is meer dan compleet ingericht. De badkamer is aan de krappe kant en de trap naar de bovenverdieping vergt een vaste tred. Het sterkste punt van het huis is de schitterende tuin. Naast het huis heb je een comfortabel zitje op een grasveldje en achter het huis is de tuin in terrassen aangelegd tegen een rotswand waardoor je op verschillende niveaus kunt zitten. Ons favoriete plekje was een schommelbankje met uitzicht op het dal. Fons is een goede gastheer met wie het contact prettig en makkelijk verloopt.

Delightful. What peace and quiet. From the beautifully landscaped garden you have a magnificent view over the valley through which flows a small river. And in the evening you can enjoy the beautiful starry sky.

Heerlijk. Wat een stilte en rust. Vanuit de prachtig aangelegde tuin heb je een schitterend uitzicht over het dal waardoor een riviertje stroomt. En ‘‘s avonds kun je genieten van de fraaie sterrenhemel.

The contact with the owners was pleasant. I would definitely recommend this cottage if you love peace and nature around you. We were with a family with two children, ages seven and nine, and they too had a great time. There is no cable TV, but there is good wifi, and a TV with DVD player. Even doing the dishes ourselves was not a problem, because hey it's vacation. And our children even like washing dishes, because they don't know that from our daily life at home. Lovely that you can also do your laundry before leaving. The sofa bed was fine for our kids, with the mosquito net around it also fly free. No problems with flies and wasps.

Het contact met de eigenaren was prettig. Ik zou dit huisje zeker aanbevelen als je houdt van rust en natuur om je heen. Wij waren met een gezin met twee kinderen, zeven en negen jaar, en ook zij vermaakten zich prima. Er is geen kabel tv, wel goede wifi, en een tv met dvd speler. Zelfs het zelf afwassen is geen probleem geweest, want hé het is vakantie. En onze kinderen vinden afwassen zelfs leuk, want dat kennen ze niet uit ons dagelijkse leven thuis. Heerlijk dat je ook de was kan doen voor vertrek. De slaapbank was prima voor onze kinderen, met de klamboe erom heen ook vliegen vrij. Geen last van vliegen en wespen gehad.

The cottage is beautifully situated in a very quiet rural setting. Plenty of privacy around the house and yet the presence of nice neighbors elsewhere down the street. A small village within walking distance where we had a nice dinner. Supermarkets are nearby at a 10-15 minute drive. From the cottage you can walk to the river and cool off there. A little further drive was in Selles a wider river where the children could build dams and play in the current.The cottage is fully equipped, especially the covered outdoor terrace is great to stay on hot summer days. The smell of lavender everywhere in the large garden, on the terrace and in the house is soothing.

Het huisje is prachtig gelegen in een zeer rustige landelijke omgeving.
Genoeg privacy rondom het huis en toch de aanwezigheid van aardige buren elders in het straatje. Een klein dorpje op loopafstand waar we lekker uit eten zijn geweest. Supermarkten zijn in de nabije omgeving op 10-15 minuten rijden.
Vanaf het huisje kan je lopen naar de rivier en daar wat verkoeling zoeken. Iets verder rijden was in Selles een bredere rivier waar de kinderen konden dammen bouwen en spelen in de stroming.
Het huisje is van alle gemakken voorzien, vooral het overdekte buitenterras is heerlijk vertoeven op warme zomerse dagen. De geur van lavendel overal in de grote tuin, op het terras en in huis is rustgevend.
