Nature house in Platanias

This nature house is a restored stone cottage, characteristic of the region. The nature house was completely rebuilt in Pelion style together with local craftsmen. A kalivi is a (mostly) stone cottage in the countryside, used by farmers during the period when they were working in the fields. The cottage is located on a large property with ancient, well-maintained olive trees, immense pine trees and even a small spring. The surroundings are almost 100% wild nature, olive groves and kalderimis (old connecting roads between hamlets). It is wonderful walking on the kalderimis, which are well maintained. The nature house can accommodate two people. There is an open bedroom and in the basement a bathroom with spacious shower, toilet and sink. The kitchen is equipped with all modern comforts. There is a lot of privacy, which is inevitable in this environment, and a wonderful outdoor shower (hot and cold water) is at your disposal. Towels, beach towels, bed linen, kitchen towels and a hair dryer are provided. So don't drag too much along to this beautiful place: a walking outfit, bathing suit and good mood is more than enough!

This nature house is located in the hamlet of Kardamata, near Platanias in southern Pelion. To Platanias it is less than ten minutes by car. There you will find two supermarkets and a number of restaurants. On the Pagasitic Gulf side, there are rolling sandy beaches and pleasant coastal villages with some entertainment. On the eastern side, the Aegean Sea, it is wilder and you walk to beautiful, lonely coves to enjoy the sea and tranquility. The market is on Saturday mornings in Argalasti (20 minutes drive) and there is also an ATM and gas station. Mount Pelion, after which the peninsula is named, towers over Volos and is almost always visible when you tour the mountainous roads of Pelion. Nature is green and overwhelming thanks to Mount Pelion's mountain water. Olive groves, pine forests, deciduous forests and wild herbs accompany you on your tours through Pelion. Enjoy nature on a mountain or coastal hike and take a refreshing dip in the clear blue waters of the sea or the bay of Pagasitikos.
