Kingfishers and great yellow wagtails fly off and on, and dippers nest literally on your doorstep. The garden with wildflowers and many species of butterflies, is colorful and surprising. The starry sky on clear nights is breathtaking. Within five kilometers are all basic amenities in the old town of Ébreuil. More stores and supermarkets can be found in Gannat 12 kilometers away. Large cities like Vichy and Clermont-Ferrand can also be reached within 40 minutes. The ancient volcanic region of the Puy de Dôme is just under an hour's drive away. Swimming at Gour de Tazenat, an old crater lake and eating ice cream there is a wonderful outing. Brocantes visits are among the possibilities.
