Charming nature house in the beautiful scenic landscape of the Achterhoek. The cottage is secluded and quiet at the end of a dead end dirt road in the yard of the former farm Engbergstede. In addition to the many birds in the animal-friendly yard, you can hear especially the peace. On the dirt road you can walk to a small but beautifully landscaped forest and make beautiful walks along the Oude IJssel and the A-Strange. The cottage is basic but contains everything you need. Good plumbing, a functional kitchen and tastefully decorated. A robust wood stove and two gas stoves make the cottage warm and cozy in winter. Between the fruit trees in the private enclosed garden you can sit at the picnic table or relax in a nice lounger. The cottage has some steps and a somewhat lower bed. It may therefore be less suitable for people who do not have good mobility.
Nature and surroundings
The nature house is located on the edge of nature and recreation area Engbergen, where woods, meadows and rivers surround the shifting dune Engbergen. Here you feel far away from civilization while the villages of Ulft and Gendringen are nearby, with a wide range of stores for groceries, bike rental and the Dru-culture factory. You can make beautiful cycling and walking through the famous Achterhoekse coulisse landscape. In the vicinity are many cycling and hiking trails, the Engbergstede is located on LAW 10 and cycling node 56. In the vicinity are book town Bredevoort, Castle Berg in 's-Heerenberg and the Wasserburg in Anholt (Germany) worth a visit. Along the Rhine in Germany there are nice towns like Xanten, Grieth and Kalkar.
