This nature house is an old farmhouse owned by the family for hundreds of years. Located at an altitude of 950 meters, in a hamlet with only a few other houses. The detached house has a terraced large garden facing southwest with views of the hills and mountains of Velay. The farmhouse is from around 1745 and was first renovated around 1970. It has one bedroom in winter and two in summer (outbuilding). The decoration is in a country style with natural materials. The bathroom and kitchen are fairly modern. There is also a large dining room/living kitchen with fireplace, a cozy living room with a bookcase full of English and French books, a bedroom with three beds (including king size bed), a separate toilet and a modern bathroom with bathtub and shower. The grounds have several terraces and there is a walled area. Wood for the fireplace is available.
Nature and surroundings
The nature house is located in the volcanic part of the Meygal, the "Pays des Sucs. At 4.5 kilometers is Saint-Julien Chapteuil with a 12th century church and with stores, supermarket, two bakeries, pharmacy, doctor, five restaurants, and so on. At 22 kilometers is the "Puy en Velay," one of the most important stopping places on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. The Puy has a beautiful, historic town center; the holy old town. There is no public transportation around the cottage.
