Nature house in Vriescheloo

All in all, a charming little farmhouse where you really feel like you’re back in 1910. Everything you need is there. Comfortable beds and clean linens, towels, and the bathroom and toilet were also spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfortable.
The garden is great fun for the kids, with a fire pit you can sit around.
It’s really nice that there’s a piano.

A few notes:
* The floor is very uneven; you have to be careful not to trip or stumble
* At night, mice run between the roof tiles and the insulation. This makes a scratching sound and scurrying right above your head. Because of this, I didn’t sleep well. You also shouldn’t be afraid of spiders and the like.
* There’s a lot of cobwebs above eye level; that could be improved....
* There are gaps between the insulation panels. Gunk comes out of them (probably from the mice)—it’s a bit gross.

Alles bij elkaar een leuk boerderijtje waar je je echt in 1910 waant. Alles is aanwezig. Lekkere bedden en schoon beddengoed, handdoeken en ook de badkamer en w.c. waren netjes schoon. De bedden lagen lekker.
De tuin is superleuk voor de kinderen. Met een vuurplaats waar je omheen kan zitten.
Erg leuk dat er een piano staat.

Een paar kanttekeningen;
* De vloer is heel erg ongelijk, je moet oppassen dat je je niet verstapt of struikelt
* Er lopen 's nachts muizen tussen de dakpannen en de isolatie. Dat geeft een krassend geluid en getrippel vlak boven je hoofd. Ik heb hierdoor niet goed geslapen. Ook moet je niet bang zijn voor wat spinnen etc.
* Boven ooghoogte erg veel spinrag, dat kan beter....
* Er zitten ruimtes tussen de isolatieplaten. Daar komt prut uit (w.s. van de muizen), beetje ranzig.

The cottage is situated in the middle of the countryside. It's very peaceful and beautiful.

Het huisje staat midden in de landerijen. Erg rustig en mooi.

A wonderfully charming and authentic cottage. We actually love that not everything is perfectly finished—it creates a sense of being at one with nature. The different spaces, both inside the cottage and in the garden, ensure that it never gets boring.
Every spot attracts its own little creatures, and there’s always something to see—and yes, even the deer!
My husband went fishing in the stream behind the cottage, while my wife and child went swimming in the lake, which is within walking distance. We also did a lot of biking; we rented the bikes from the local bike shop, and they were delivered and picked up without a hitch.
We found the genuine peace and quiet that still exists here to be truly special.
We highly recommend it—we definitely hope to come back here ourselves!

Geweldig sfeervol en authentiek huisje. Wij houden er juist van dat niet alles perfect is afgewerkt en er een soort van één met de natuur ontstaat. De verschillende ruimten, zowel in het huisje als in de tuin, zorgt dat het nooit verveelt.
Elk plekje trekt zijn eigen diertjes aan en er is altijd iets te zien, en ja, ook de hertjes!
Manlief heeft gevist in de beek achter het huisje en vrouw en kind hebben gezwommen in het meer op loopafstand. Er is ook veel gefietst; de fietsen waren gehuurd bij de lokale fietsenwinkel en zijn keurig gebracht en weer opgehaald.
De echte rust die hier nog is, vonden wij heel bijzonder.
Echt een aanrader, wij hopen hier zelf ook zeker terug te komen!

The garden and the surrounding area were beautiful. We felt a sense of freedom and undisturbed peace throughout our entire stay. The cottage was cozy and decorated in a rustic style.

Der Garten und die Umgebung waren wunderschön. Man hatte das Gefühl von Freiheit und ungestörte Ruhe während des gesamten Aufenthaltes. Das Häuschen war gemütlich und urig eingerichtet.
Die Bilder auf der Homepage entsprechen leider überhaupt nicht mehr dem aktuellen Zustand des Häuschens.

The first impression was positive. But then we noticed the mess left by the previous guests, including empty wine bottles under the kitchen counter. Yellow-stained and worn-out mattresses, a moldy shower curtain, moldy silicone seals, and old mouse droppings next to the fireplace significantly dampened the vacation mood.
There were plenty of toys available, but almost all of them were incomplete. The grill was nice, but the grill grate was, unfortunately, completely rusted and filthy.
The chairs at the dining table, unfortunately, fell completely apart, and the chair legs couldn’t be screwed back together. We were afraid the chair would give way beneath us.

Der erste Eindruck war positiv. Dann jedoch viel einem der Dreck der Vorgänger, inklusive leeren Weinflaschen unter der Küchenzeile auf. Gelb fleckige und durch gelegene Matratzen, ein schimmelnder Duschvorhang, sowie schimmelige Silikonleisten und alter Mäusekot neben dem Kamin trübten die Urlaubsstimmung erheblich.
Es gab viel Spielzeug in Angebot, davon war jedoch fast alles unvollständig. Der Grill war schön, das dazugehörige Grillrost leider völlig verrostet und total verdreckt.
Die Stühle am Esstisch vielen leider komplett auseinander und die Stuhlbeine ließen sich nicht wieder fest schrauben. Man hatte Angst, dass der Stuhl unter einem nach gibt.
