This nature house is located in the rural Groninger Westerkwartier. Winding roads and streams in the beautiful coulisse landscape offer peace and space. A place to relax and escape from the daily grind. The nature house is designed so that guests can completely unwind. Not only by the beautiful view but also by the luxurious individual facilities. Namely, the space has its own new bathroom and kitchen. In addition, there is a free wifi connection.
Nature and surroundings
In the Westerkwartier, low-lying peat bogs and higher lying sand ridges alternate. On the sandy ridges the villages lie as elongated ribbons. The numerous wooded enclosures create an intimate, enclosed landscape that contrasts with the open moors. Peat pits are reminiscent of peat extraction: strips of water and marsh left behind where peat was dug out. Ponds, forests and even a moor add additional variety. There are many different walking routes near the nature house, such as the Westerkwartierpluspad and the struunroute Leek. Near the village are also the Lettelberter Petten, a clearing area where since 1961 a bird-watching hut and nature area of the Groninger Landscape is located. For cycling enthusiasts, there is also plenty to see; since 2012, the Westerkwartier has the most interactive bicycle junction network in the Netherlands. With this network, it is easy to determine your own cycling tour through the scenic and dike landscape. Prefer to stay on/near the water? The nature house is located on the Lettelberterdiep, via the deep you in 15 minutes at the beautiful Leekstermeer. Among other things, canoes can be rented nearby.
