Nature house in Engreux

This authentic nature house is located on a dead-end road on the outskirts of the village of Engreux near Houffalize. It enjoys a peaceful setting on a large 5,000 m² wooded property and is cozily furnished. Entrance: spacious hallway with plenty of room for coats, hiking boots, etc. A large living room with a dining area, sitting area, and reading nook. In addition to the central heating, the living room features a wood stove. Adjacent to the living room is a compact, well-equipped kitchen. Also on the ground floor are 2 bedrooms, a spacious bathroom (with a corner bathtub and shower stall), and a separate toilet. On the upper floor is a large loft with a bookshelf wall (a great play area for children) and 2 bedrooms. The house is equipped to accommodate up to 6 people, but thanks to the layout with bedrooms on the ground floor, it’s also a pleasant place to stay for smaller groups. Adjacent to the living room is a covered porch with a fireplace and barbecue. Surrounding the house is a large garden with an outdoor fire pit. The garden offers plenty of privacy, sun, and shade. It’s a wonderful play area for children.

The village of Engreux can only be reached (and left) via a single road. The other roads in the village all lead into the surrounding forests. This makes it possible to go for a walk right from the house—anything from an hour-long stroll to a five-hour hike around the confluence of the Ourthe River. For outdoor activities, you can enjoy: mountain biking (route through the village), canoeing, fishing, and swimming, among other things. When it snows: the nearby Baraque de Fraiture ski area offers a wide range of activities. The village is small: a church, a few houses, and a café where you can enjoy a meal at a reasonable price. Grocery shopping is available at a supermarket 10 minutes away by car. For shopping, there are the towns of Bastogne (war museum), Clervaux, La Roche-en-Ardennes, and Durbuy. The Knauf shopping center just across the border in Luxembourg has many stores and offers inexpensive gas. Finally, there’s a public charging station for electric cars located 50 meters from the house.
