In this old carpenter's barn near the landlords' farm, two bright apartments have been built for two people, both with excellent facilities, a bathroom with walk-in shower and a small and complete kitchenette. Sustainable, organic materials have been used as much as possible in the renovation, finishing and furnishing. Many items and furniture are given a second life. There is plenty of modern comfort, but also a warm, inviting atmosphere due to the oak flooring, vintage furniture, books, ethnic rugs and art, giving each apartment its own atmosphere. This cottage has a colorful touch of red and orange and gives a cheerful, sunny feeling. There is no television, obviously, but there is free Wi-Fi. And there is also a wood stove where you can enjoy reading in winter. Through the terrace doors on the east side you look out on a flower field that in summer attracts many bees, butterflies and other insects. Both apartments have a small terrace, otherwise there is plenty of space around to sit quietly outside.

The nature house is located on an estate in the heart of the Achterhoek region, between Ruurlo and Hengelo. The landscape in the immediate vicinity is small-scale and friendly. Forests, fields and meadows alternate and invite you to explore on foot and by bike. From the cottage you walk straight into nature via paths and fields. There are guides and map material ready (such as Trage Paden maps) for small detours and ambitious day trips on the many sandy paths and small roads. This part of the Achterhoek has many estates that offer a wealth of nature and culture. The original landscape has remained intact for centuries with loving management. Many estates are still privately occupied and are not accessible. In Kasteel Vorden you can wander around on your own, Huis Verwolde has guided tours and Landgoed Hackfort is worth a visit because of its organic vegetable garden and restaurant. In medieval Hanseatic towns like Doesburg and Zutphen you can stroll around, sit on a terrace or eat. But the best thing is to be awakened in summer by the melodious yodeling of the golden oriole or in winter to hear the plaintive and mysterious call of the tawny owl.
