This luxurious nature house is located 400 meters from the first lake in the Dordogne. The house is situated above the road, so there’s plenty of privacy! Guests can fully enjoy the peace and quiet of nature here and sit outside on the terrace until late in the evening during the summer. You can enjoy a lovely swim in the lake, and you can rent pedal boats and canoes at the castle. From our beach, you can see a 14th-century castle, Château de Val, which is open to visitors. The chalet is very well-maintained and luxuriously furnished with double sliding doors, a luxury kitchen, two terraces, and an electric awning. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the luxuries (dishwasher, microwave, oven, bread maker, Senseo, Nespresso). There is a wood stove with an unlimited supply of firewood (in addition to electric heating). Satellite TV with Dutch channels is available, as well as internet/Wi-Fi. There are also plenty of games for all ages! Fishing is popular in the lake; permits are available for one day or multiple days. More information about fishing is available from the rental agency.
Nature and surroundings
From the nature house, you can enjoy beautiful walks along the lake and through the woods. It’s almost never windy here! The house is stocked with plenty of hiking maps and booklets featuring numerous hiking trails mapped out by the French tourist office. You can go mountain biking nearby; there are marked mountain bike trails in the area. The nature house is also close to beautiful, ancient volcanoes (Puy de Dôme, Puy de Sancy, Puy Mary). There are also many waterfalls nearby that you can hike to, and at some of them you can even walk underneath them; information is available in the cottage. There are picturesque villages and towns (Besse, Mauriac), charming spa towns (Bourboule, Le Mont-Dore), and a medieval town (Salers) nearby. There are also several castles worth visiting. Finally, the owners play golf at three charming 9-hole courses, all about 40 kilometers away (Mauriac, Neuvic, and Le Mont-Dore). A supermarket and bakery are 5 km away.

Wij hebben het erg naar ons zin gehad de afgelopen weken, het weer was erg mooi, ongeveer 30 + C, dus het was fijn dat we onder het zonnescherm in de schaduw konden zitten. Ook kwam de surfplank goed van pas, de kinderen hebben er heerlijk mee gepeddeld. Het huisje en de nieuwe keuken vonden we erg mooi en de horretjes waren erg praktisch we hebben bijna geen muggen of spinnen gezien, heerlijk! Onze uitstapjes waren leuk, oa naar puy de dome. Helaas was de waterval maar een klein stroompje vanwege de droogte. Wij zullen het huisje zeker aanraden bij vrienden.
Rustig vrijstaand huisje, bij bos en rustig meertje, ook in het hoogseizoen!

Comfortabel Chalet met meer dan genoeg serviesgoed en bestek, goeie materialen en mooi afgewerkt. Van dit huis wordt gehouden en dat merk je. Informatiemappen, sterrenkaart, verrekijker: alles is er. Degelijke bedden maar voor ons net iets te hard. Aangenaam contact met de eigenaars.
Rustige buurt, bij open weer vrij zicht op de sterren. Aan alle kanten luiken zodat het koel blijft bij heet weer. Water vlakbij en wandelen mogelijk vanaf de woning zelf. Heerlijk kraanwater!
