Just one kilometer away from the medieval town of IJzendijke, surrounded by serene nature, you will find this romantic cottage on a generous plot of more than 2000 m². It offers breathtaking views over the vast fields and is the perfect place for those looking for peace, space and a piece of history.This charming cottage, built in 1870 (Zeeland heritage), has undergone a careful transformation over the years. The original character has been preserved, while the house is equipped with all modern conveniences. The authentic floors still creak delightfully and the doors are low (because yes, the people of that time were a bit smaller!). Yet you will enjoy comfort and style here, with a new oak parquet floor in the living room and recently renewed window frames with double glazing. The large garden surrounding the house offers plenty of space to relax. Enjoy the sun on the various seating areas, or seek shade for a moment of rest and relaxation.
Nature and surroundings
The garden is currently being transformed into an ecologically friendly biotope, this will take some time to reach maturity. The beautiful, wide beach of Zeeland Flanders is 15 kilometers from the house. This beach has several times been voted the cleanest beach in the Netherlands. Even in the pre-and post-season it is wonderful to get a breath of fresh air. In the immediate vicinity of the house you can enjoy walking and cycling on the dikes and visit the nature reserve 't Zwin in Cadzand, this is definitely worth it. 10 km away, in Biervliet is the beautiful nature reserve the Braakman with several hiking trails. In the historic towns such as Sluis, Ghent, Bruges, Antwerp and Terneuzen you can enjoy shopping and sniffing up some culture, so these are definitely worth a visit. A nice day trip is to visit Vlissingen and Middelburg. You can take the bicycle ferry from Breskens across. So something for everyone.
