Horse riding Bird watching Cycling Hiking

A farmhouse from the 19th century converted into a vacation cottage. The nature house is located just outside the village and is detached. You step back in time, cozy and completely furnished. Downstairs is the dining room with an extendable dining table and gas stove. In the living room you can enjoy the cozy atmosphere of the cottage from an easy chair or sofa, sitting next to the gas stove or watching television. The cottage is not bookable during the winter months! In the bedstead there are several games. The kitchen is a separate room. There you will find everything you could possibly need. A combination microwave, a gas stove with electric oven and, of course, the necessary pots and pans. On the upper floor, reached by a difficult staircase (see photo!), 2 bedrooms and the landing with beds. In the barn there is a washing machine and you can store your own or rented bicycles. In high season, changeover day is on Friday.

Nature and surroundings

The nature house is located just outside the village in a quiet area. The farmhouse has been refurbished in old style. Next to the farm is a contracting company. In the village there is a large playground for the children. A stone's throw away are the historic city of Middelburg and the port of Vlissingen, with its unique boulevard on the Westerschelde. Well-known tourist attractions such as Veere, Domburg and Zoutelande are also easy to reach by bicycle. By the way, within the province of Zeeland, Walcheren is cyclists' paradise, with an extensive network of country roads and a beautiful, varied landscape. The huge dunes by the beach are only one kilometer away and can be easily seen from the cottage. In front, next to and behind the cottage are three terraces, so a place in the shade is always possible. A lawn offers plenty of space to play or lounge. There is also private parking behind the cottage.

Nice little house from the 19th century. Of course that makes it small rooms, made for small people, no insulation. Anette gave us a warm welcome. Kitchen is well equipped. Some more insulation so you do not hear everything (especially in the toilet) would be an added value

    Nature, peace & environment: 5 /5

We came to hike. Location on the outskirts of a small village made it super quiet. From the cottage you can easily walk to the dunes, Middelburg...the hiking trails are marked with green signs with a yellow arrow.

A nice house. Really back in time, but we found that charming. There is a lot in the kitchen. The house was super clean. The stairs upstairs take some getting used to, but none of us bumped his/her head. Nice that every window has a screen. Waste separation went smoothly.

    Nature, peace & environment: 4 /5

The house is on the outskirts of a village. Every now and then a car passes by, but it is absolutely not busy. In 10 minutes cycling you are in the dunes.

We were given a very warm welcome and had a lovely greeting in the fridge. The house was like a little trip back in time, we found it very nice. The kitchen is well equipped, we only missed the dishwasher a little. The house also has a barn, which really has everything you need. There are lots of great outdoor games, especially for children, and we made use of everything. There is also a small room in the living room, which also has everything for children: games, books, cars. We didn't have to take any toys with us. Everything was very clean. We felt very comfortable. The only thing that bothered me was the musty smell in the house, and some of our clothes smelled of it. For people who are sensitive to smells, it takes some getting used to.

    Nature, peace & environment: 4 /5

The house is on a road with little traffic. Right next door is a farm where tractors drove around every day - our children loved it! Opposite is a sheep pasture. Farmland all around. You can get to the village quickly by bike and to the sea in about 10 minutes.
