A farmhouse from the 19th century converted into a vacation cottage. The nature house is located just outside the village and is detached. You step back in time, cozy and completely furnished. Downstairs is the dining room with an extendable dining table and gas stove. In the living room you can enjoy the cozy atmosphere of the cottage from an easy chair or sofa, sitting next to the gas stove or watching television. The cottage cannot be booked during the winter months! In the bedstead there are several games. The kitchen is a separate room. There you will find everything you could possibly need. A combination microwave, a gas stove with electric oven and, of course, the necessary pots and pans. On the upper floor, reached by a difficult staircase (see photo!), 2 bedrooms and the landing with beds. In the barn there is a washing machine and you can store your own or rented bicycles. In high season, changeover day is on Friday.

The nature house is located just outside the village in a quiet area. The farmhouse has been refurbished in old style. Next to the farm is a contracting company. In the village there is a large playground for the children. A stone's throw away are the historic city of Middelburg and the port of Vlissingen, with its unique boulevard on the Westerschelde. Rineke July 18, 2025 General rating:A nice house. Really back in time, but we found that charming. There is a lot in the kitchen. The house was super clean. The stairs upstairs take some getting used to, but none of us bumped his/her head. Nice that every window has a screen. Waste separation went smoothly.
Een leuk huis. Echt terug in de tijd, maar dat vonden wij charmant. In de keuken is erg veel aanwezig. Het huis was super schoon. De trap naar boven is even wennen, maar geen van ons heeft zijn/haar hoofd gestoten. Fijn dat er bij elk raam een hor zit. Het scheiden van afval verliep soepel.

The kitchen is well equipped, we only missed the dishwasher a little. The house also has a barn, which really has everything you need. There is also a small room in the living room, which also has everything for children: games, books, cars. We didn't have to take any toys with us. Everything was very clean. We felt very comfortable. The only thing that bothered me was the musty smell in the house, and some of our clothes smelled of it. For people who are sensitive to smells, it takes some getting used to.
Wir wurden sehr nett empfangen und hatten einen liebevollen Willkommensgruß im Kühlschrank. Das Haus war wie eine kleine Zeitreise, wir fanden es sehr schön. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet, wir haben nur die Spülmaschine etwas vermisst. Zum Haus gehört noch eine Scheune, hier gibt es wirklich alles , was man braucht. Gerade für Kinder gibt es viele tolle Outdoor-Spiele, wir haben alles genutzt. Im Wohnzimmer gibt es noch eine kleine Kammer, auch hier gibt es alles für Kinder: Spiele, Bücher, Autos. Wir hätten gar keine Spielsachen mitnehmen müssen.
Alles war sehr sauber.
Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.
Einziger Punkt, der mich gestört hat: leider riecht es muffig im Haus, auch unsere Kleidung roch zum Teil danach. Het is een goede uitvalsbasis voor het verkennen van Walcheren; alles is op fietsafstand. De duinen zie je vanuit het huisje in de verte liggen. Vóór het huisje loopt een doorgaande weg. Daar komen alleen wandelaars met hond en ruiters te paard. Rond het huisje heb je verschillende plekken om te zitten.
Het huisje zelf heeft een aparte keuken (zeer volledig ingericht!), eetkamer en woonkamer. De ruimtes zijn groot genoeg om met een gezin (2 volwassenen 2 kinderen) te verblijven zonder elkaar voor de voeten te lopen. De trap naar boven toe is in eerste instantie een beetje eng, maar na een dag waren we aan de trap gewend.
Wij hebben hier een fantastische vakantie doorgebracht (met warm weer en koud, regenachtig weer) en waren zeer tevreden over het huisje. Het is niet luxe (dat hoeft van ons ook niet), maar alles is er (het huisje is zeer volledig ingericht!) en werkt naar behoren. En erg schoon! Ook zit je in de rust. Wat ons betreft een aanrader!Nature, peace & environment:In de directe nabijheid van het huisje is er niet veel natuur. Het huisje ligt net buiten het dorp in een gebied met landbouw. In de verte zie je de duinen liggen en de zee is op fietsafstand. Voor een toeristisch gebied als Walcheren is dit een heerlijk rustig plekje en toch overal dichtbij.
