Nature and surroundings

The nature house is located in the middle of the beautiful Yser Valley, on the property of the restored mill and within walking distance of the Yser River. The many greenery in the area and the endless views immediately give you a feeling of peace and relaxation. Both during the summer and winter months, the valley has a blissful feeling of peace and relaxation. You can take endless walks among the fields and past the sheep grazing the bank. As you tour around the many rural roads and end up in the almost forgotten villages, you experience a unique vacation feeling. There are also plenty of small regional museums nearby and you will stay overnight just a stone's throw from French Flanders. Towns such as Veurne, Poperinge, Ypres or Diksmuide are not far and a day at the sea is also easily included. The sheep and geese welcome you after your day trips or bike rides. Truly a tremendously beautiful place!

    Nature, peace & environment: 5 /5

What a wonderful place! So free and open and so incredibly friendly reception. Even though the cottage is attached to the main house, they don't intrude at all, but are there when you need them and they are tremendously involved. Our children played wonderfully with Simon. There is also a lot to see and do in the area, for young and old. We went to the beach for several days, but also did many of the 'kids' walks that were recommended. Fun, entertaining and all nicely up to date. It really is an incredibly nice and special stay. Free tip: ask if you can visit the mill for a while, they tell you about it with so much passion and it is tremendously fun to hear!

Cottage was neatly clean and maintained and fully equipped. It was located near the IJzer where we regularly took a walk in the evening. In short, highly recommended!

We were here a week in the summer vacations with our boys of 10 and 13 and we enjoyed ourselves. A nice welcome with delicious homemade pear juice, friendly owners who knew a lot about the area and lots of space in and around the house so the boys could enjoy themselves. Good base for all kinds of trips such as Ypres, Poperinge and the beach. Do not forget to visit the museum Passchendaele. House was very clean and well maintained and fully equipped. It was located near the IJzer where we regularly took a walk in the evening. In short, highly recommended!

What does “Fireworks-free” mean?
The host indicates that the area is firework-free. Firework-free means that no firework bangs can be heard in and around the accommodation. You might occasionally hear some noise or see some light from fireworks set off outside the immediate area. It is important that you agree with the landlord on what you can expect.
Selection of activities
