Nature house in Uzzano

Small-scaled, authentic and child-friendly. The ruralhut is surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and forests against the foothills of the Apennines at an altitude of about 450 metres. From the area where this ruralhut is located, you have a beautiful view over the valley of Pescia and Uzzano (in the Pistoia province). You can even see Lucca and Monte Serra, behind which Pisa is located, and you can observe a glimpse of the sea in clear weather. A winding road brings you to the farm that has been completely ecologically rebuilt and equipped with all modern comfort. There are two apartments and two fully furnished safari tents on the domain. A little further in the woods is another lodge that is also completely furnished. Each accommodation has a barbeque. The owners have dogs, cats, two donkeys. The latter may bray at night. Dogs are welcome (up to two per family), provided that they are sociable with the other animals of course. The tents are fenced and can be provided with a doghouse. Please report this when booking.

The scenery of Tuscany is very suitable for beautiful walks. The towns and villages are sometimes true outdoor museums. Especially outside the high season you will not encounter many tourists while at the same time being very pleasant due to the lower temperature. Furthermore, there is the option to take one of the donkeys to carry the luggage. Small children can ride on their backs for a while after a long walk. The ancient city of Pescia about 6 km away is an important centre for flower cultivation and has a large flower auction. There is also a big flower exhibition every two years. Collodi at about 8 km distance, is where you can visit the Park of Pinocchio or the beautiful Villa Garzoni with its gardens landscaped against the mountain side. Several villas of the Medici are located between Pescia and Lucca. Montecatini and Monsumano Terme both located at about ten kilometer distance have elegant Liberty-style thermal complexes, where you can clean your mind and body with bathing, mud baths, massages and drinking of healing water. Lucca, about 20 km away, with its beautiful city walls surrounding the inner-city, where an antique market takes place every third Sunday of the month in a large part of the city centre. At 20 km distance one will find a beautiful natural swamp area where many, often rare, (water) plants and birds can be spotted. There are nine hiking routes in the area. The "Centro di Ricerca, Documentazione e Promozione del Padule di Fucecchio" in Castelmartini organizes walks for adults and children.
