This nature house concerns a farmhouse on an estate, a 'monte' from the eighteenth century restored in its original state. It offers peace and comfort.Let yourself be seduced by the Alentejo and discover this quiet retreat just 45 kilometers from Évora, from where you can enjoy the magnificent views of the medieval town of Monsaraz.Taste the dishes of the regional cuisine, go hiking or biking, visit prehistoric monuments, discover the villages in the area and enjoy the beauty of the lakes of the Alqueva. In this location you can find tranquility all year round, whether by the warmth of an open fire or by swimming in the pool between the arches of an old olive press. Surrounded by an olive grove, vegetable gardens and fruit orchards, in a landscape reminiscent of a paradise, designed for those who appreciate the good things in life. In addition to its elegant traditional architecture, the nature house offers the comforts of any modern home, such as central heating. It consists of the main house where breakfast is served and in which there are two suites and four farmhouses, all furnished and upholstered in a rustic minimalist style with an ethnic work of art here and there, brought back from the landlord's many travels. The sofa bed can accommodate two additional people.
Nature and surroundings
The estate ("monte") is surrounded by Pega's famous olive grove. From the farmhouses you have direct access to the gardens with ponds full of water lilies and the citrus fruit orchard. You can spend time there relaxing, sunbathing and reading, and perhaps taking an occasional dip in the pool. At night you can dine under the stars, next to the pool, overlooking the illuminated medieval walled town of Monsaraz and the musical accompaniment the chirping of crickets and cicadas.Built on a hill, a rarity in the plains of the Alentejo, the medieval walled town of Monsaraz looms up in this vast landscape like a scene from a fairy tale, where past and future are intertwined in a unique celebration of unparalleled beauty and history. This settlement, located just ten minutes from the estate, is one of the oldest in Portugal, with its whitewashed row of houses made of clay and schist, its fortress and walls, its churches and the old court with its precious frescoes. Inhabited since prehistoric times due to its exceptional location (the megalithic monuments in the area prove it) it was successively inhabited by Romans, Arabs, Jews and Christians. As a result, it offers visitors a surprising foray into the history of the peninsula.
