Between Poitiers and Limoges, on the border of Limousin and Poitou, you will find this hamlet of four houses. Two of them are our two-person nature houses (distance between them about 80 meters), with private beach on the river Gartempe (fishing, limited swimming, canoeing). This nature house has a living room with kitchenette (electric stove, microwave, coffee maker, kettle), a bedroom with bed 140x200, with blanket 220x220, a bathroom with shower, sink and WC. The house can sleep two people and two people willing to share the bed. Near the house is enough space to set up a tent for one or two children. In Bussiére-Poitevine (8 km) you will find groceries, bakery, doctor, pharmacy, tools. In Montmorillon and Le Dorat (15-20 km) you will find supermarkets. Two electric bikes are available.
Nature and surroundings
The surroundings are slightly hilly, with alternating forest and pasture. There are marked hiking trails and the area is also sought after by athletic cyclists. We ourselves have a few sheep in our pasture, and nature brings other animals, such as deer. There are no mosquitoes. Nearby is the waterfall Saut de la Brame and the imposing Roc d'Enfer. Medieval towns are le Dorat, Montmorillon, Lussac, Bellac. There are several attractions in the further vicinity, such as Futuroscope near Poitiers, La vallée des Singes, the National Porcelain Museum in Limoges, the medieval frescos in Saint Savin, the Cité de l'Ecrit in Montmorillon, the Collégiale in Le Dorat, the raptor show in the old town of Chauvigny. In addition to private access to the Gartempe (kayak available), there is another river beach 100 meters from this cottage. Extensive water sports (sailing, swimming) are available at Lac Saint Pardoux, a half-hour drive away.
