A stay in the Schoppe is a breath of fresh air in several ways1 The tranquility of the surroundings, the beautiful view and the fine quiet interior with natural materials ..... as if by itself you switch to a lower gear. Even breathing is a fine sensation in the Schoppe: no fine dust, constant humidity , no draughts and a perfect temperature summer and winter: this is the result of our high tech ventilation system!
Nature and surroundings
The 2-hectare site is set up for nature to flourish and be experienced in all its richness. It is located at the edge of the Buurtschap Winterswijk-Kotten, in the middle of the beautiful Achterhoek scenery on a quiet road. In addition to the Schoppe, the yard also contains the farmhouse (owner's home) and a small Radmakers house that is permanently occupied. On the grounds, there is plenty to discover around sustainable living. For example, there are several sustainable installations and there is a food forest, a permaculture vegetable garden (fresh vegetables !), a meadow and an orchard. Chickens also walk on the grounds. Winterswijk is one of the National Landscapes in the Netherlands. The environment is a constant alternation of small forest plots and cultivated land, mostly surrounded by wooded banks. Some of the roads in the outskirts of Winterswijk are unpaved. This makes Winterswijk a true walking and cycling paradise.
