Nature house in Buxieres sous Montaigut

This nice nature house is an old farmhouse, built in the style of this region: the Puy de Dôme. It is located in the beautiful, rolling countryside of the Combrailles, far from highways and amusement parks or other mass tourism. This area has a huge range of cultural and sporting leisure opportunities, but it also invites you to relax and enjoy nature. On this property there are two nature houses. Originally they were stables for cattle, after conversion they have become cozy cottages. The cottages are detached and have their own terrace with a beautiful view over the hilly landscape of the Combrailles. The church tower of Montaigut is just visible in the distance. This nature house is simply but completely furnished. It has a well-equipped kitchen, garden furniture and a stereo set with cassette and CD player. There is a so-called 'pompe à chaleur'; in winter it functions as heating and in summer as air conditioning, so it is pleasant to stay there all year round. On the child-friendly grounds children can run and play to their heart's content. They can pet and cuddle the rabbits, and together we will feed the chickens and sheep (with their lambs). There is a swimming pool (3m60 diameter) and a few nice child-friendly lakes can be found in Lapeyrouse and St. Eloy. Buxières sous Montaigut is located in the northern part of the Puy de Dôme, the department of extinct volcanoes (the Puys). It is an agricultural, little-touristy region with a hilly landscape. It is very suitable for walking and cycling. The many rivers and lakes are excellent for swimming, canoeing and fishing. In the surrounding villages and towns many activities are organized, especially in summer, such as flea markets, boules competitions and jazz festivals. Nearby Montluçon has a beautiful medieval quarter and several museums. From Paris there is a direct train connection to this place, where the landlords can pick you up from the station if necessary.Nice suggestions for day trips include: the Puy de Dôme (a.o. hiking, and paragliding), Saint Nectaire, with its typical Auvergnatse church and delicious cheese, the beautiful old towns of Hérisson, Souvigny and Charroux, the Gorges du Sioule (hiking, fishing, canoeing), Railway Bridge Viaduct des Fades and the reservoirs, as well as a waterfall in St Priest des Champs, St. Priest des Champs, St. Pierre and St. Pierre.
