In the middle of a national park lies this renovated, typically Estonian nature house from 1895, surrounded by forests and vast hilly landscape. From the house you have a beautiful view of the garden with two ponds and the meadows and forests (total 60 hectares) belonging to the farm. The farm consists of several buildings, including a traditional granary, sauna house and large stable (storage room). The farm itself has a spacious entrance hall that gives access to three bedrooms and the spacious living room. The interior is unique due to the old wooden beams from which the house is constructed. The master bedroom has a beautiful view of the garden and is also suitable as a reading room. Here you will find a king-size bed and a sitting area with (sleeping) couch. The other bedrooms each have two generous beds. The simple kitchen has an electric stove and a wood-burning stove. On one of the ponds is the beautiful sauna house with swimming platform where you can enjoy the peace and quiet that make this place so special. The sauna house consists of a spacious relaxation/living room followed by a wood-fired sauna and a shower and toilet.
Nature and surroundings
Southern Estonia is characterized by rolling hills with forests and lakes. On quiet paths with well-marked hiking and mountain bike routes you pass many beautiful places. Peace, space and pure nature are the characteristics of this environment. Otepaa and its surroundings is an internationally renowned area for cross-country skiing, culminating in the annual world cup competitions in Otepaa's modern stadium. A 10-minute drive away you will also find one of the most beautiful golf courses in Northern Europe and Lake Puhajarve. At the lake is the spa resort with indoor pool and a beautiful view of the lake. You will also find near the cottage some good restaurants where you can enjoy the most delicious dishes. By car you can make beautiful trips: from the wild nature of the Karula national park to the shores of Lake Peepsi and the culture of the Settu Kingdom with its ancient history. The university city of Tartu with its historic center and modern stores and restaurants is 45 minutes away by car. In short: plenty to see and experience!

Hilary June 14, 2025 General rating:A well equipped house with a lovely Estonian summer room. So you can still enjoy the outdoors at night, without the mosquitos getting to you. Would love to come back sometime.
Nature, peace & environment:Lovely house, woke up to sounds of birds including cranes in the morning. Plus the frogs ribbiting away each morning. A perfect place to go out and explore Estonia from.

Constanze July 9, 2022 General rating:Our favorite place in the house (log cabin): the heated conservatory (Estonian 'summer room') with fly screen and window foil to roll down, with a large table and dartboard! Also very cozy and decelerating: cooking on the stove in the conservatory or on the newly built cooking machine in the kitchen. The cake for birthday children can be baked in the modern oven, all the equipment is there. For us, the spacious cottage was the starting point for explorations as far as Pärnu (NW) and Tallinn (N) to Luhasoo (S), so we didn't feel confined to the immediate surroundings. But Otepää (20 min. by car) is a sports town with lots of mountain biking (not for casual urban cyclists) and summer skiing. And the Pühajärv (Holy Lake) there is a bathing and boating lake (free outdoor pool). The nearest attraction is Sangaste Castle and the typical regional rye restaurant, the nearest 'urban' town is Valga (e.g. for shopping; 40 min. by car).
Auto).Nature, peace & environment:This year is full of mosquitoes, I must perhaps say in advance. Otherwise I would have preferred the path from the garden across the meadow into the forest (wild strawberries!). But the nearest national park is not far away, and a stork has come into the garden a few times. There is no traffic noise in this location.
