Nature house in Vimieiro

We love this cottage! We love the cottage itself, with its relaxed atmosphere and the view from the terrace. It’s like looking out over a savanna! And the campground and the entire grounds are beautifully landscaped. And the pool is a real treat. During our stay in the cottage, we had a great time exploring the surrounding area. We saw beautiful towns with a rich history (Évora!) and also visited swimming pools in places like Mora and Évora. When in Portugal, do as the Portuguese do; head to one of their fantastic outdoor pools. We went on two beautiful hikes, and we especially loved the one in Arriaolos. We also had a lovely lunch there at a restaurant that specializes in “petiscos.” And we visited a few interesting museums as well. In short, in addition to the lovely cottage and a fantastic campground, the surrounding area has a lot to offer. With Waldemar and Tania as our friendly hosts, that rounds out the experience perfectly.

We zijn fan van het huisje! Vanwege het huisje zelf met de ontspannen sfeer en het uitzicht vanuit het terras. Alsof je over een savanne kijkt! Daarnaast is de camping met het hele terrein mooi ingericht. En het zwembad is super genieten. In de dagen dat we in het huisje verbleven zijn we met veel plezier door de omgeving getourd. We hebben mooie stadjes gezien met rijke historie (Evora!) en daarnaast ook zwembaden bezocht onder andere in Mora en Évora. When in Portugal, do as the Portugese; ga naar een van hun fantastische openluchtbaden. We hebben twee prachtige hikes gelopen, waarbij we vooral de hike in Arriaolos mooi vonden. Lekker geluncht daar ook in een restaurant dat ‘Petiscos’ als specialiteit heeft. En ook hebben we enkele leuke musea bezocht. Kortom, naast het heerlijke huisje en een fantastische camping heeft de omgeving ook heel veel te bieden. Met als sympathieke gastheer en gastvrouw Waldemar en Tania maakt dat het verhaal compleet.

The cottage blends beautifully into the landscape; it’s comfortable without too many details that distract from the beauty and light all around you. The only thing was that the bed was a little too soft for my taste, but I’m sure that’s just a matter of personal preference.
It certainly wouldn’t stop me from coming back!

Het huisje past mooi in het landschap, comfortabel zonder teveel details die afleiden van de schoonheid en het licht om je heen. Alleen het bed was voor mij iets te zacht maar dat is vast een kwestie van persoonlijke voorkeur.
Het zou me er niet van weerhouden terug te komen!

The surroundings are beautiful; when you sit on the terrace, you’re right in the middle of it all. But you also have a sweeping view from inside the cottage. I found it both soothing and inspiring at the same time
