Nature house in Pourcheres

It wasn't until after we booked that we realized the house is particularly suited for two families. We were three couples (though we were one family). The two small bedrooms offered less privacy than we’d hoped, and having to walk through another couple’s bedroom to get to the bathroom at night isn’t very convenient. We solved this by going to the bathroom via the patio, but that’s not ideal when it rains.
We also only used one bathroom once to shower because it had a strong sewer smell afterward. Not a big deal in itself, since there are plenty of bathrooms. The one in the master bedroom is large and very nice. We also really appreciated having a fourth separate toilet. And the kitchen is wonderfully well-equipped with appliances, dishes, and silverware, as well as essentials like spices, oil, vinegar, etc., etc.

We zagen na boeking pas dat het huis met name geschikt is voor 2 families. Wij waren met 3 stellen (wel 1 familie). De 2 kleine slaapkamers gaven minder privacy dan gehoopt en in de nacht via een slaapkamer van een ander stel naar het toilet gaan, is niet handig. We hebben dit opgelost door via de patio naar de badkamer te gaan maar als het regent is dat niet fijn.
Verder hebben we 1 badkamer slechts 1x gebruikt om te douchen omdat er daarna een behoorlijk rioollucht hing. Op zich geen ramp want badkamers genoeg. Die in de master bedroom is groot en heel fijn. Een 4e separaat toilet vonden wij ook heel prettig. En de keuken is geweldig compleet qua apparatuur, serviesgoed en bestek maar ook met benodigdheden zoals kruiden, olie, azijn etc etc

Truly in the middle of nowhere. Lots of space. Shady spots everywhere. Wonderfully dark at night and blissfully quiet. Not even any barking dogs at night (or during the day, for that matter). An adventurous access road.

Echt in de middle of nowhere. Heel veel ruimte. Overal schaduwplekken. Heerlijk donker in de nacht en zalig stil. Zelfs geen blaffende honden 's nachts (overdag ook niet trouwens). Avontuurlijke toegangsweg.

France, on a mountain, with a pool. Those were the requirements my kids said the vacation home had to meet. Well, we nailed it! We had a wonderful time! The house felt like home right away. The three of us spent so much time sitting on the terrace, enjoying the view. The pool is large and offers plenty of opportunities for floating, swimming laps, and sunbathing. The kitchen had everything we needed, which is great if you love to cook. For us, Mimi—the cat from “just down the road”—who came by every day to say hello, was a huge bonus. If you love peace, space, quiet, darkness, and nature in a spacious and luxurious home, then this is the place for you!

Frankrijk, op een berg, zwembad. Dat waren de specificaties waar het vakantiehuis aan moest voldoen volgens mijn kinderen. Nou, dat is gelukt! We hebben genoten! Het huis voelt meteen vertrouwd. We zaten zo vaak even met z’n drieën op het terras te genieten van het uitzicht. Het zwembad is groot en biedt volop mogelijkheden voor dobberen, ‘baantjes’ zwemmen en zonnen. In de keuken ontbrak niets en dat is heel fijn als je van koken houdt. Voor ons was Mimi, de kat van ‘even verderop’, die dagelijks kwam buurten een dikke bonus. Als je van rust, ruimte, stilte, duisternis en natuur houdt in een royaal en luxe huis, dan is dit je plek!

A nature house with all the comforts of a palace! Everything we needed was there. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see much of the surrounding area because of the heat wave.

Een natuurhuisje met de status van een paleis! Alles wat je nodig hebt was aanwezig. We hebben helaas weinig van de omgeving gezien vanwege de hittegolf.

We spent a fantastic week at this nature house. A gorgeous house! A beautiful pool. So peaceful, with stunning natural surroundings. A nice little bonus was the French cat that followed us everywhere. And, of course, the swallows, which had nests under the roof.

We hebben een fantastische week in dit natuurhuis doorgebracht. Schitterend huis! Prachtig zwembad. Heerlijk rustig, prachtige natuur. Een leuk extraatje was de Franse kat die ons overal achtervolgde. En natuurlijk de zwaluwen, die nesten hadden onder het dak.
