Nature house in Idsegahuizum (Makkum)

This nature house is built in the Swedish style. The house features a cozy kitchen-dining-living area, equipped with a kitchenette with electric stovetops. A dining table with chairs and a comfortable sofa round out the space. There are also two bedrooms and a bathroom. The entryway features a coat closet and two built-in closets. With the patio doors open, you’ll enjoy a beautiful view of the garden. Behind the cottage, there’s an additional private spot where you can relax in the sun or have a barbecue. The cottage is equipped with central heating, Wi-Fi, and a TV. Pets are not allowed, and smoking is not permitted inside the house. In the farm shop, the hosts offer homemade farm products and other organic local products. You can also go boating right from the property—use of a fishing boat is included in the total price! Please note: we advise against traveling with children under 8 years of age or without a swimming certificate, as the property is located directly on the waterway (high embankment)!

The child-friendly Makkum beach is within walking distance, and from the IJsselmeer you can sail out onto the Frisian inland lakes. Nearby you’ll find beautiful nature reserves, and in the fall you can watch thousands of wild geese flying noisily over to the nearby meadows, where they spend the winter. For lovers of culture, history, and architecture, this area is also a delight. Along the Elfstedenroute, beautiful towns such as Harlingen, Hindeloopen, Sloten, and Workum—with their museums and galleries—invite you to enjoy some shopping or have a cup of coffee. Bolsward, Sneek, and Leeuwarden are also definitely worth a visit.
