Nature house in Vorden

The cottage is too small for four adults with luggage. The loft that held two beds was difficult to reach via a steep narrow open staircase and behind a beam that you had to cross. One bed was directly under a sloping roof making it difficult to get in and difficult to turn around without bumping into the roof. The description says pets are welcome, but cats apparently are not. They had to be put in a crate when we were out and about so they couldn't reach the litter box. Fortunately, we were able to solve it in another way by taking them elsewhere during the day. Otherwise we would have had to abort the stay. The kitchen is very basic, the crockery was damaged here and there. Response from landlord: Pets are certainly welcome, but not two domestic cats who were not specified and had to stay inside the cottage all day while the tenants were all away. The cottage has 4 beds; you can just sleep on a mattress. Downstairs is much more space than upstairs.

Het huisje is te klein voor vier volwassen personen met bagage. De vide waarop twee bedden stonden was moeilijk bereikbaar via een steile smalle open trap en achter een balk waar je overheen moest. Een bed stond direct onder een schuin dak waardoor je moeilijk in kon stappen en je moeilijk kon keren zonder je tegen het dak te stoten. Bij de beschrijving staat dat huisdieren welkom zijn, maar katten blijkbaar niet. Zij moesten als we op stap waren in een bench zodat ze niet bij de kattenbak konden. Gelukkig hebben we het op een andere manier kunnen oplossen door ze overdag elders onder te brengen. Anders hadden we het verblijf moeten afbreken. De keuken is erg basic, het servies was hier en daar beschadigd.

Huisdieren zijn zeker welkom,maar niet twee huiskatten die niet opgegeven waren en de hele dag binnen in het huisje moesten verblijven ,terwijl de huurders allemaal weg waren.
Het huisje heeft 4 slaapplaatsen; er kan gewoon op een matras geslapen worden. Beneden is wel veel meer ruimte dan boven.

Beautiful surroundings, we enjoyed cycling through the junction system and therefore always on quiet roads and bike paths. Also at the cottage it was quiet, hardly any traffic. In this respect the place met our wishes.

Prachtige omgeving, we hebben heerlijk kunnen fietsen via het knooppuntensysteem en daardoor altijd over rustige wegen en fietspaden. Ook bij het huisje was het rustig, nauwelijks verkeer. Wat dat betreft voldeed de plaats aan onze wensen.

Along a shortcut where farmers were busy. Quiet on Sundays. I myself live in a hamlet in agricultural area. Nature is a little further away. The cottage was nice/ nice at first, but the heat can't get out. Too few windows that can open. Screens that do not fit well, so quite a few mosquito bites. For 2 people, a couch and three easy chairs is a little too full. We missed a closet(s) where we could put our own stuff/clothes. We really don't need luxury comforts. All kinds of things on cabinets and window sills I find unsettling. But I can imagine that Westerners like it.

Langs een binnenweggetje waar de boeren druk bezig waren. Op zondag rustig. Ik woon zelf in een buurtschap in agrarisch gebied. De natuur is ietsje verderop.
Het huisje was in eerste instantie leuk/ aardig, maar de warmte kan niet weg. Te weinig ramen die open kunnen. Horren die niet goed aansluiten, dus flink wat muggenbultjes. Voor 2 mensen is een bank en drie luie stoelen een beetje teveel te vol. We misten een kast(je) waar we onze eigen spullen/ kleren in konden leggen. We hoeven echt geen luxe comfort. Allerlei dingen op kastjes en vensterbanken vind ik onrustig. Maar ik kan me voorstellen dat Westerlingen het leuk vind.

Het huisje heeft alles wat je nodig hebt, in en om het huis. Gastvrije ontvangst.

Nature is fantastic, really a cottage in nature.
