Nature house in Oostburg
Zeeland, Netherlands
- 8 persons
- 4 bedrooms
- WiFi
- Pets allowed
The original worker's house has been converted into an attractive nature house. The 2000 m² garden is on a creek and has a jetty with rowing boat and terrace with beautiful views of the water. In the creek you can fish and swim (natural swimming water). Children will have a great time: there is a large trampoline, outdoor table tennis and plenty of room for a game of soccer or hide-and-seek. The house has a spacious kitchen diner overlooking the garden and the creek. The living room overlooks the expansive landscape. Downstairs is a bedroom for two with private bathroom and a large bedroom with five beds. Next to this room is a spacious bathroom with separate toilet and a washing machine. Upstairs there are two more bedrooms for two people each and a third toilet with a sink. There are also four free bicycles. Furthermore, there is a barbecue and a fire basket, and there is various garden furniture, so there is always a place where you can sit outside.
Nature and surroundings
15 minutes from the beach, this nature house is located in the middle of the western Zeeland Flanders polder landscape. Sit back on the jetty terrace and watch the common terns fish in the creek and the reed warblers move among the reeds. Grab a fishing rod or dive into the water yourself. Or lie down in the hammock and enjoy the beautiful garden with its old Dutch fruit trees, flowers and reeds. But there is also plenty to see nearby. The house is located on a quiet road, in the middle of a creek area, three kilometers from Oostburg. Here there are many stores and welcoming restaurants. Eight kilometers away is historic Sluis. The Belgian cities of Bruges and Knokke are about a 30-minute drive away. The cottage is on the Cathelineroute, one of the many bicycle routes you can use to explore Zeeuws-Vlaanderen by bike. The beaches are quiet, wide and 12 kilometers from the cottage. History is here for the taking. The 16th century polders and the State-Spanish lines and villages show why this area is both the Netherlands and Belgium.
