Nature and surroundings

Numerous paths and sandy tracks wind their way north through the beautiful nature towards the province of Alentejo, and most are suitable not only for walking but also for cycling or even driving. But that’s not all: there are also concerts, cinemas, museums, libraries and beaches in the area. For example, Tavira – a town just a 20-minute drive away – has plenty of things going on all year round, ranging from music, markets and small festivals, to art galleries and the best restaurants. The nearest café-restaurant (’O Monte Velho’) is only a 15-minute walk from our Eco home. Sta Catarina is nine kilometres and has good restaurants and shops and a great coffeeshop.
