This is a 17th century cottage on a property of 2 hectares located in the Dordogne valley, also called the Perigord or Aquitaine region, in the department of Le Lot, between Rocamadour and Sarlat. It has a quiet location, hidden among the woods and fields, in the middle of unspoiled nature. The nature house is accessed via a private road 500 meters long from Le Castanet, a hamlet of 7 houses. The cottage is an ideal base to explore the Perigord.The Dordogne River "avec tous ses plaisirs" is a 10 min drive away. At the nature house is a beautiful swimming pond where no chlorine or other chemicals are added, so no irritated skin or eyes for the kids. The water is filtered through a plant filter. This allows everyone to enjoy swimming in crystal clear, soft and healthy water. The house has been tastefully renovated with respect for tradition and equipped with all modern comforts.
Nature and surroundings
The Dordogne Valley is a beautiful region in southern France, known for its unspoiled nature, authentic villages and medieval castles. The Périgord is known for its rich history, its nice markets, brocantes and its extensive gastronomy. From here you can make beautiful nature walks, explore the region by bike via junctions or just enjoy on the terrace, doing nothing can also be exciting. The pool is fully fenced, this is not clearly shown in photos. Rocamadour is 22 km, Sarlat at 25 km, Grottes de Lascaux at 40 km and Collonges la Rouge at 25 km.
