Nature house in Ökna

This nature house is very special! A log cabin for two to four persons located in the middle of the forest. Back to basics! It is possible, in this 200 year old torp. There is no running water and no electricity, but you can walk in the woods and the garden is full of blueberries, lingonberries and wild strawberries. A brook with waterfalls and a small forest lake make the location unique. The nature house is still in its original state. You will find a cozy living room with fireplace, a kitchen with stove and a double bedroom. Two extra beds are possible. In the new annex is an original Finnish sauna. Cooking can be done on a gas fire or on the wooden stove. The kitchen is also equipped with a gas fridge. Illuminatation can be done with oil lamps and candles. The nearest neighbor lives two kilometers away, Kvarnamo is really the place to fully rest. To rent canoes and mountain bikes or to charge your phone or camera you are welcome in the owners basecamp Kröken. At three kilomters, by the lake, you will find a very peaceful swimming place.

The surrounding area of the ruralhut is ideal for active vacations. The owners run a canoe center five kilometers from the house. Here you can go canoeing on the Em River or rent a mountain bike or even a E-bike. In the nearby village of Ädelfors, gold was found in 1737. The gold mine was in use until 1889 and a former inhabitant of Kvarnamo has worked in the gold mine. Still, Ädelfors gold is still found. Close to the village is a gold camping camp. Here you can go as a tourist and experienced gold seekers will learn how to wash the sand. Furthermore, the house is located approximately 50 kilometers from Astrid Lindgrens World. Here you can meet Pipi Langkous and all the other figures from the books of this author. Of course you can also walk the forest behind the garden and look for berries, mushrooms or animals such as reindeer, moose or wild boar. Or just do nothing and enjoy the peace and wood-fired sauna.
