Nature house in Poirot-Dessus ( Ouroux en Morvan)

We, Frank and Yvon, have a 200-year-old farmhouse that has been renovated in the original “French style” and is beautifully and tastefully decorated. FULLY ENCLOSED GARDEN SINCE SPRING 2022. The living room (6x7 meters) features an authentic beamed ceiling and a natural-stone fireplace with a wood stove. There is a seating area with a 3-person (sleeper) sofa and several cozy “nooks.” A CD/DVD player and TV (Chromecast: streaming), books, and board games are provided. There is also a ping-pong table and a shuffleboard. A few steps down is the spacious kitchen with a gas stove and electric oven, a fridge-freezer, a combination microwave, a coffee maker, a Nespresso machine, a bread maker, a dishwasher, and a water heater. There’s a spacious dining area with antique terracotta tiles on the floor. Separate bathroom with shower, sink, and toilet. French doors open to the garden with various terraces. Two bedrooms: one with a double bed (2x90/200 mattresses), and one with a French twin bed (130x190) and a bed (90x190 cm). Duvets and pillows are provided. YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN BED LINENS AND KITCHEN TOWELS.

Poirot-Dessus is located in the heart of Burgundy, within the “Parc Naturel Régional du Morvan” nature reserve. It is an ancient granite mountain range, ranging in height from 400 to 900 meters. With its vast forests and fields, dotted with springs, streams, and lakes, it is an ideal “gentle hiking region” with surprising hidden gems. Fishing enthusiasts will be in their element here. From the farm, you have a view of the wild landscape with its hills, forests, and charming countryside. You can hike for hours through the central and southern parts of this 173,000-hectare nature park, including along marked trails. There you’ll find the white Charolais cows and various birds of prey such as buzzards, harriers, red kites, and ospreys. This makes it an area that’s ideal for birdwatchers. You can hike and fish along the shores of the large Lac des Settons and Lac de Pannecière. Climb the Haute Folin, the region’s highest point at 900 meters; go canoeing, swimming, horseback riding, ATV riding, playing tennis, and golfing. For mountain bike enthusiasts, there are plenty of mountain bike trails to choose from. The history and culture provide plenty of reasons to enjoy a fantastic vacation.
