The other mezzanine, where a third or fourth bed can possibly be realized, can only be reached by nimble and adventurous guests via a ladder. Note that the two mezzanines share the same large open space. Under the old beams, it is nice and quiet to sleep. The room is CV heated, but the wood stove alone can also heat the cottage comfortably. The landlords will provide you with enough wood to start a cozy fire. An old stable door in the living room leads to the bathroom with exposed beams and underfloor heating. The bathroom has a shower, double sink and toilet. With its inlaid mosaics and funny, old details, this room is also a feast for the eyes. For small children, sleeping on the loft without a gate is not suitable because of the danger of falling. The entire house is non-smoking.

Kimswerd, located on the Eleven Cities Route is a small, quiet and beautiful village where the Frisian hero ;Grutte Pier was born and lived. He still watches over the village, in petrified form, at the beginning of the street, next to the centuries-old church, which is also well worth a visit. Groceries are in Harlingen, the supermarket is fifteen minutes by bike. The sea dyke, the beach and the old port of Harlingen are six kilometers from the cottage. There are two bicycles available on request for beautiful trips in the area, between the meadows with characteristic farms to the old town of Franeker or to Bolsward with its Broerekerk with glass roof. If necessary the landlords will drop you off in Harlingen for a crossing to Terschelling. You can then leave the car in the yard for a while. Between Kimswerd and Harlingen is a bird nesting area.
