This ruralhut is an old farm, built in the typical style of this area: the Puy-de-Dôme. It is situated in the beautiful, hilly landscape of the Combrailles, in the middle of France, far away from highways, amusement parks and mass tourism. This area offers a great deal of cultural and sportive possibilities, but it invites also to relax and enjoy nature. On the property there are two holiday homes (gîtes). Originally the buildings were used as stables for the cattle, but after a rebuilding they have become cosy holiday homes. The gîtes are independant and have a separate terrace with a lovely view over the hilly landscape of the Combrailles. The church tower of Montaigut is just visible in the distance. Holidaying at this ruralhut means to rest. Simply read a book in the sun, take a walk or just sit and enjoy it.

Buxières sous Montaigut is situated in the northern part of the Puy de Dôme region, the department of extinct Vulcanoes (Puys). It is a rural, quiet area with a hilly landscape. It is very suitable for walking and cycling. The numerous streams and lakes are excellent for swimming, canoeing and fishing.
