This charming nature house is located just outside the Frisian village of Twijzelerheide and stands in our yard. It has a living room with a large sitting area, television, radio-CD player, a well-stocked bookcase with cycling and hiking routes and tourist information. The open kitchen has a dining area, gas stove, fridge-freezer, combination microwave, coffee maker and kettle. On the upper floor (accessible with a rather steep staircase) is a bedroom with a double bed (160x200 cm). The cottage has a private terrace with fire basket, sun beds, barbecue. OPTIONS: bicycle rental (€5 pfpd), use of sauna (€25 or fire it up yourself €15 each time). Use of wood-fired Swedish Størvatt hot tub (€45 per evening). These are in a shielded part of the garden. Subject to availability as we still have a cottage. Options are NOT included in the rental price, but are paid directly to the landlord according to use.
Nature and surroundings
The nature house is located in the middle of the landscape of the Frisian Woods, with nearby National Parks the Alde Feanen, Het Lauwersmeer and the Wadden. In the cottage there are several hiking and cycling maps ready for you. It is also highly recommended to visit the Kruidhof in Buitenpost: Europe's largest botanical herb garden. The train and bus station are 2 kilometers away, on occasion we are happy to pick up and drop off guests.

Quiet place with lots of birds, surrounded by trees. Some little natural light in the cottage due to small windows and many trees. Perfect for 1-2 persons. Stairs to bedroom are fine but less suitable for elderly people.
Rustig plekje met veel vogels, omgeven door bomen. Wel wat weinig daglicht in het huisje vanwege kleine ramen en veel bomen. Perfect voor 1-2 personen. Trap naar de slaapkamer is prima te doen maar minder geschikt voor ouderen.
