Nature house in Montambert

This idyllic ruralhut used to be a lumberjack’s cottage. It offers beautiful views of the woods, a lake, and rolling fields. The location gives a special sense of freedom. It is located by a quiet wagon trail, on a large orchard. This cottage is ideal if you are looking for a relaxing holiday in the middle of nature. The cottage has a living room, large kitchen with dining table, bathroom with shower, and toilet, utility room, and bedroom. It is simple and yet comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped. The bedroom has two single beds and a sofa bed. There’s also a sofa bed in the living room. There are games, books, a DVD player, and walking routes starting from the front door. In case of a larger company, the house can be combined with camping in the orchard. For a special nature experience, you will find an extra shower and toilet outside (next to the bathroom) with a direct view of the orchard. Many different herbs such as rosemary, lavender, sage, marjoram, and mint grow against the cottage. There’s a covered outdoor area in the barn opposite the house.

The cottage is located in the rolling countryside of the Sud Morvan and only four kilometers away from the Loire River, where you can go canoeing. It’s highly recommended to take a nice walk along the river or through the vast forests. Chances are that you will see wildlife. It’s also nice to picnic, relax, or fish besides the many lakes. You can also read a book in a hammock under the trees. There are several authentic villages nearby, such as Gannay sur Loire, Cronat, Fours, and La Nocle Maulaix. It appears as if time hasn’t gone by here, and you can still find village shops, cafes, ancient churches, and secluded squares here. The baker in Fours makes the most delicious bread of the whole area! The goat farmer in Montambert sells fresh goat cheeses. You can enjoy delicious French food in the area (not expensive). The closest eating place is the Auberge in Montambert, internet is free here if you’ve ordered food, and they can prepare a picnic basket for you on request. There are interesting towns relatively close, such as Decize, Bourbon Lancy (with medieval city center), and the city of Moulins, where music and theater performances are organized in the summer months.
