Characteristic century-old farmhouse with garden, covered terrace, beautiful views and complete privacy. This nature house is the perfect base for spotting the woodpecker, goshawk, golden oriole, deer, orchids and special butterflies such as the checkerboard. The farmhouse is located on top of a hill in the southern part of the Dordogne about 20 km from Sarlat. Surrounded by the most beautiful villages of France, such as Belves, Monpazier and Domme. The lovely garden full of fruit trees and the covered terrace with restored outdoor oven (four) for BBQ and surrounding valley with many hiking trails make it a relaxing natural place. It is simple but fully equipped. It is in a very remote place, but internet and phone connection (5G) is good. Watch television via antenna. The house can be reached by an almost two kilometer long forest road, which leads to 3 identical charming farmhouses. This nature house is the last and most remote one.
Nature and surroundings
In spring and summer it is beautiful for lovers of orchids, butterflies and birds. Several species of lizards, salamanders and toads can be found around the house. Deer and roe deer can be seen around the house in the morning and at sunset. It is a paradise for those seeking peace and quiet. The house is near a number of Grand Randonnees (GR) where beautiful walks can be made past ancient Romanesque churches, abbeys, castles, through forests and along rivers. The abbey of Cadouin is nearby. There is a small lake (plan déau) for swimming in Prats de Perigord (6 km) and the Dordogne River is 15 km away. A canoe trip on the Vézère River is a special experience with kingfishers, dragonflies and fish such as trout, eel and pike. A cruise on the Dordogne passes castles and beautiful villages. The markets of St. Cyprien and Sarlat are worth visiting as well as the new cave of Lascaux.

bie August 25, 2023 General rating:het huis is ruim, authentiek. daardoor is het wat donker binnen, kleine ramen horen erbij. en het was fijn om daar te verblijven. plek genoeg!
Nature, peace & environment:het was heerlijk. de stilte, de rust, het zien van sporen in het gras (helaas de dieren niet kunnen spotten) ...

Nature, peace & environment:Op zich een mooie omgeving, huisje is heel rustig gelegen. Helaas de vele insecten (vliegjes in bos) in de zomer maken wandelen en fietsen ondraaglijk. Zonde
Reactie verhuurder: Beste Lieve, Wat jammer dat jullie tijdens het verblijf last hebben gehad van insecten in het bos. Mogelijk zijn door de zachte winter vorig jaar meer insecten geweest dan normaal. Dit is de eerste keer dat we deze klacht vernemen, hopelijk niet vaker! Met vriendelijke groeten, Michiel -
Filip August 21, 2020 General rating:Het huis is prima, maar buiten moet je niet veel verwachten qua terras, etc. Leven in een huis in de natuur is er, maar leven buiten en genieten van de natuur is er niet bij. Een rijk gevulde tafel, met houten stoelen kan je vergeten - die staan netjes achter slot en grendel. De buitentafel is ook niet voorzien voor 6 personen....Het is slordig buiten en onverzorgd.... Ik denk dat de foto's van jaren terug zijn, toen de bankjes nog bankjes waren en niet verrot zoals nu.
Reactie verhuurder Dank voor je reactie. We zijn ermee aan de slag gegaan. We hebben nieuwe tuinstoelen gekocht. We verhuren tot max vijf personen. De tafel is volgens ons passend voor vijf mensen. Het deel waar de four (broodoven) met aangrenzend terras is, is in de zomer een heerlijke koele plaats. De majestueuze kersenboom geeft koelte, maar zorgt ook voor bladeren, bloesemblaadjes en rijpe kersen die vallen. Aandachtspuntje die we meegeven aan onze hulp. De bankjes voor het huis hebben we vernieuwd. En inderdaad verwacht geen strak gemaaid gazon: we doen aan gefaseerd maaibeleid, zodat er ruimte is voor biodiversiteit: bloemrijk en aantrekkelijk omgeving voor vlinders ,bijen en vogels.
