Nature house in Tailles

This nature house is situated in a quiet, rural setting in the hamlet of Les Tailles in Houffalize—with a beautiful view of meadows, woods, and the valley. This charming chalet, built of solid wood and Ardennes stone, features five bedrooms with box-spring beds and a private sink; some rooms have direct access to the bathroom. Weekend stays (2 nights) are valid until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. In the large, tree-lined garden with a terrace and picnic tables, a large bird feeder, a BBQ, a campfire pit, a petanque court, and a trampoline, you can also relax in the Finnish kota or grill hut. The hot tub on the outdoor terrace or the wellness area on the ground floor—featuring a Turkish steam bath (hammam), sauna, and walk-in showers—are optional. The price listed at booking is the weekend rate for 2 nights! From the house, you can head straight out into nature for a walk using the maps provided. A private swimming/fishing pond with trout, roach, carp, and more is just 500 m away... (Available for reservation: Winter €60. Summer: see photo). Ski resorts are a 10-minute drive away. A fast-charging station for electric cars is 4.6 km away.

The nature house is located on the Plateau des Tailles, one of the most beautiful nature reserves in the region. Within walking distance, you’ll find Belgium’s largest beaver dams. Deer, roe deer, and foxes can often be spotted right from the cottage’s living room. You can observe beavers on a five- to ten-minute walk from the cottage. The host is a nature guide and also rents out kayaks. You can go on kayaking trips on the Ourthe—with or without a nature guide—and look for dippers, kingfishers, beavers, and much more. There are many beautiful hikes, marshlands, and picturesque river valleys here. Raccoons and badgers often forage for food near the cottage at night. The rare black stork and the red kite can also frequently be spotted here starting in the spring. Thousands of cranes migrate over the property every year. In the garden, there is a large feeding table where many bird species can be observed up close year-round. Raccoons also regularly visit the feeding table at night.
