Nature house in Wijnjewoude (buitengebied van Bakkeveen)

It is enjoyable in this comfortable, luxury nature house located on an unpaved dead-end country road, far from civilization and public roads. The nature house is located in Southeast Friesland in the landscape of the beautiful Frisian Woods and near the three-province point (Friesland, Drenthe and Groningen). Cities such as Drachten, Groningen, Leeuwarden, Heerenveen and Assen can be reached within 15-30 minutes. The comfortable living room with magnificent views of the beautiful nature, has a cozy sitting area with mood lighting and modern gas fireplace and features French doors to a large, wooden deck terrace equipped with garden chairs, outdoor lighting and fire basket for the ultimate "outdoor living feeling. The cottage has an open kitchen equipped with all appliances, a bathroom with toilet and walk-in shower and three bedrooms (two large and one small downstairs), each suitable for two people. Also, all opening windows and doors have mosquito nets and the ground floor is completely barrier-free. WiFi, books and games are provided. Dogs are welcome, but no other pets. Smoking, deep-frying, gourmet and/or fondue are not allowed inside.

The nature house stands in a wooded landscape amidst vast heathlands and beautiful forests and is located directly on marked hiking trails and bike paths. The landscape is ancient and beautiful and is a wonderful area for walking, cycling or sailing to discover (eg via the Turfroute). Nearby nature reserves include the Duurswouderheide, the stream valley of the Koningsdiep, the Bakkeveen dunes, 't Oude Bosch, the Fochteloërveen and the National Parks the Drents-Friese Wold and Alde Feanen. With any luck you can observe deer, badgers, owls and buzzards from the cottage. You can also find amphibians such as the ring snake, adder and salamander nearby. In terms of culture, the area is versatile: nice villages (Bakkeveen, Appelscha, Norg) and towns (Dokkum, Grouw), very worth visiting museums (Veenhuizen), good restaurants, tea gardens, nice (farm) stores, galleries, sculpture gardens, boat trips (Eernewoude) and city walks. For golf lovers, there is one of the most beautiful golf courses in the Northern Netherlands in Beetsterzwaag, and the skating hall Thialf in Heerenveen is a half-hour drive away. The abundance of nature, tranquility and beautiful views are certainly ingredients for a very pleasant stay in this nature house.
