In the North of Friesland, between the City’s Leeuwarden and Dokkum, is one of the smallest villages of Friesland: Jannum, famous for the Roman Church from 1150. On the mound in Jannum, there are two 17th century monumental houses, including four lodges (two seperate lodges per house). Each lodge has a ground floor and a first floor. The lodges are simply, but tastefully, furnished and especially attractive for those appreciating old architectural styles. The lodges are equipped with modern facilities, including: radio, television, free wifi, fridge, microwave, coffee machine, and an electric two-cook burner for cooking. Nature and surroundings

This nature house is surrounded by meadows, the view is very peaceful, attractive and outstrechted. Jannum is located between the cities Dokkum (8 km), Leeuwarden (municipality of the province, 20 km). From Holwerd (9 km), it is possible to take the ferry to the beautiful island called Ameland. Besides this, the Frisian province is famous for its `eleven cities tour’. There are many possibilities for rural cycling and hiking routes along different points of interest. Other sightseeing possiblities are the small bridge of Bartelehiem and Hegebeintum. This small village is famous for its mound, which is the highest one in The Netherlands.
