The safari tents are located near the Leekstermeer lake, the forests of Drenthe and the Frisian water sports area. The city of Groningen is 12 kilometers away. In front of the door you can swim in the natural water of the Lettelberterdiep or start your canoe trip. Canoes can be rented at the campsite. In the nearby village of Leek is Nienoord Castle, a beautiful estate with hiking area, a large playground and a beautiful swimming pool with water slides. On is a large vegetable garden where you can find fresh vegetables and herbs. In Leek and Midwolde you will find good restaurants. You can also prepare meals in the safari tent. In the vegetable garden you can pick fresh herbs.

These safari tents are located on the Lettelberterdiep which is in direct connection with the Leekstermeer. You can swim, fish or start a canoe trip from the jetty. On the other side of the Lettelberterdiep is a 'mountain basin', an overflow area in times of flooding. This area is freely accessible to hikers, bird lovers can enjoy themselves here. The accommodation is located on the Nienoord route, a beautiful bike ride through the Westerkwartier. Near the Leekstermeer are the Lettelberterpetten, with a beautifully situated bird observation hut. Should you feel the need for a day in the city, the cozy city of Groningen is 12 kilometers away and is easily reached by bicycle.
