Nature house in Easterein (Oosterend)

Some call it magical, others call it whimsical. The cottage is situated in a special spot where you can sit in the garden, go boating, build a fire, sleep, and relax. It features a double bed, a wood stove, and an electric heater—perfect for winter rentals or winter camping, yet with a unique twist. In short, not for those who prefer a practical and minimalist interior. The cabins are surrounded by hedges and trees, keeping them cool in the summer with slightly less natural light. The interior measures 12 m². In a central location within the park, you’ll find the fully equipped communal kitchen with induction cooktops, an oven, a microwave, a dishwasher, and a refrigerator. The restrooms are also located there. Please bring your own (bath) towels; the beds will be made for you. We welcome you starting at 3:00 PM on the day of arrival. You can reserve the wood-fired sauna upon arrival on the day of your arrival (€25/hour).

For lovers of culture, history, peace, and open spaces, this paradise is centrally located between the Frisian Eleven Cities of Bolsward, Sneek, Leeuwarden, and Franeker. Nestled along tranquil boating and fishing waters, this nature house lies hidden like an oasis in the landscape. Just two kilometers away lies the village of Easterein, with its imposing medieval church and authentic Frisian (film) café/restaurant. You’ll quickly be captivated by the farms, picturesque meadows, and countless waterways. Canoes are available for rent on-site. The church paths connect the villages and lead you to terraces and narrow streets. A visit to the mummies of Wieuwert is highly recommended. Terherne, where the Kameleon books come to life, is easily accessible from the cottage. A visit to the nearby Frisian (Eleven) Cities is well worth it: Franeker with the world’s oldest operating planetarium, Workum with the Jopie Huisman Museum, the water sports town of Sneek with its charming historic center, and the port city of Harlingen, where the ferries to Terschelling and Vlieland depart. Bolsward is also just a stone’s throw away. Finally, the Frisian capital Leeuwarden, perfect for shopping and culture enthusiasts.
