The former pig barn of this farm has been converted into an attractive ruralhut. It is situated on a dead-end sandy road near the German border. Through the intact layered wooden tires, ceilings of old oak bolts, old-fashioned tiles and door slots by stable windows, this house has an authentic and romantic look. The ruralhut is very spacious. The bright and spacious living room has a seating area (including TV), large dining table, open plan kitchen and a playing corner. Games for all ages are present and Wi-Fi is also available. The house has its own entrance from the sandpath. Via a bridge and through the garden of the house you reach the front door. The garden features garden furniture and a fire pit. In the evening, it is still really dark and quiet and you can enjoy this the best with its own fired fire. The landlords respect the darkness by working on the site with light / motion detectors. They have constructed wetlands to clean the wastewater, there are solar panels and they separate the waste as much as possible. For the children there is a playground with playhouse, sandpit, rings and swing. There are a number of go-karts, buggies and a step. All necessities for small children are available (box, highchair, bath, cot, camping cot).
Nature and surroundings
This ruralhut is located in the outskirts of Winterswijk in the Achterhoek area. It is quietly located on the dead-end of a sandy road, near the German border. Your view consists of the typical couliss landscape from the Achterhoek; meadows and interspersed with scaffolding. Across the street lies a beautiful nature area with fens. Several birds have been identified, such as a kingfisher couple. In June, the orchids and water lilies bloom here. From the farm you can make many walks and bike tours without encountering a busy road. You can walk over beautiful country roads and forest paths, alternating with meadows. A little further away (three kilometers) are well-known nature areas such as the Vardingholder peat (Germany) and the Woolen Peat (Netherlands). Unique pieces of nature with many hiking possibilities. In short... it is a paradise for nature lovers, hikers, cyclists, and families with children. The landlords have a lot of information about excursions in the area, but they also have bike and hiking routes and a lot of environmental maps that you can borrow from them.
