Nature house in Veelerveen

A nice romantic farmhouse with a 2000 m² garden full of flowers, trees, bushes and its own terrace. The ruralhut is over 100 years old. It is a simple/minimalistic house and has some low doors. The garden is a paradise, most times of the year you can eat fruit growing in the garden. The furniture and the crockery are partly Asian because the owners of this ruralhut have lived in Vietnam. The house is heated by central heating, but it also has a wood burning stove. The bedroom has a spacious double bed with a comfortable new mattress to enhance your sleep comfort. A closet for your clothes is available in the bedroom. The red bench in the living room can be transformed into a sofa bed which is suitable for one or two persons (140 x 200 centimeters). The bathroom has a hot and strong shower. The toilet is separated from the bathroom. All modern equipment is present in this ruralhut. You can use the DVD player, television and Wi-Fi. The house has a conservatory with a second wood stove and an additional dining table. You will be surrounded with a pond and lots of flowers and birds in the garden. There is also an outdoor terrace. Because the garden is secluded, it is very suitable for children. You can set tents for free in the garden.

The ruralhut is situated in the Westerwolde landscape, a piece of Drenthe in Groningen. This ruralhut is located next to a forest of State Forestry. There is no traffic, because the farm is located on a road that goes on a bike path. Within 500 meters you are in Vriescheloo. There are plenty of hiking and cycling opportunities in the area and there are three natural lakes where you can recreate in less than three kilometers away from the ruralhut. Emslandermeer and Wedderbergen also have an indoor swimming pool. The famous fortress village of Bourtange is only eight kilometers away from the cottage. The meandering "Ruiten Aa" is nearby, where the Noarber Road passes. In the area surrounding this river, there are various natural areas of Natural Monuments and Forestry. It is interspersed with pines, heaths and streams that swing through a beautiful cultural landscape. Weasels, six kinds of bats and many special birds live in this area. There are several possibilities for canoeing on the "Ruiten Aa". Canoeing is possible from Vlagtwedde or from Sellingen. Bike node maps are present in the cottage. Bike rental can be arranged with the landlords. They have gathered a lot of information for you about the tourist opportunities in the area. There are maps for walking and cycling. The surrounding area is also famous for its many brick shops and shed sales.
