Bird watching in the Alentejo? You will stay in the cottage at Monte Horizonte which occupies a 20-hectare site and where 100% of the energy supply comes from solar and wind power. You have the possibility to make several excursions with an experienced bird guide or you can book a complete birding trip. More information on this under Nature description. Monte Horizonte is registered with Turismo de Portugal under number 1.620 and has all permits. This semi-detached vacation home has the terrace on the south-west side of the house and is connected to another Casa. This vacation home is located near the pool and consists of a living room, 2 double bedrooms, an open kitchen with various equipment, including a gas hob and refrigerator. The bathroom consists of a toilet, sink, shower. Bed linen is changed once a week, towels twice a week.
Nature and surroundings
Our Birding trip has a supplement of 295 euro. A number of days you will trek by yourself, with a detailed route and location description in hand. one half day ( 4 hours ) you will go out with the Dutch host (bird guide) in his all-terrain vehicle. And you are entitled to 2 half-days in the bird hide on our property (BSP1). There is also the possibility to book half-day and full-day excursions separately. You will stay in a cottage on our 20-acre property and where 100% of the energy supply comes from solar and wind power. Around your cottage there is also plenty to do with birds.

Fantastische plek, in stil gebied met slechts een zestal huisjes op een groot terrein op ruime afstand van elkaar. Heerlijk terras voor de woonkamer met weids uitzicht over de heuvels. Gezellige houtkachel (s'avonds nodig in winter). Ruim huisje, goed ingericht. Zoekend naar iets van kritiek om geen cijfer 10 te rechtvaardigen: het keukenbestek was wat krap en het aanrecht wat hoog....... Een heerlijke plek voor wie van rust houdt!
Prachtige directe beboste omgeving om te wandelen over zandpaden. met veel kurkeik (en helaas zoals overal Eucalyptus). Wat verder weg, al dan niet onder begeleiding van de terrein eigenaar in zijn 4WD, prachtige vogelgebieden, varierend van Extremadura achtige gebieden tot lagunes, stranden en klifkusten.
