Unlike most houses of that era (18th/19th century), the farmhouse stands all alone with the first few houses about 500 meters away. Thanks to the lack of street lights, stargazing is unnecessary. The complete night darkness provides a sharp outline of the Milky Way and a countless number of stars. The house is located at an altitude of 1040 meters in the Livradois Forez natural park. This park consists of protected natural landscapes with rich and diverse fauna and flora. Ancient beech forests, spruce forests, hills and volcanoes alternate with vast green valleys and moors. The area lends itself to lovers of hiking and cycling. In season, the forests around the house are full of edible mushrooms such as chanterelles and cep.
