Actually, this chalet can be summarized in two words: atmosphere and view. That it is cozy can hardly be otherwise, when everything is made of wood. Regardless of the temperature outside, the warmth always radiates from it. When you also light the wood stove, a pleasant and cozy stay is guaranteed. And then the view. Both from the kitchen and from two of the three bedrooms you look out over many miles of rolling green countryside. There are more annoying ways to wake up. Of course, you enjoy it even more when the weather is nice and you can sit outside on the spacious balcony that runs three-quarters around the house. Sitting here in the evening sun with a glass of wine or a Belgian beer, it doesn't get much better than this. The house, along with a number of other chalets, is located very quietly in a secluded neighborhood. But the location is so central that you can do anything in the area. Visit places like Houffalize, La Roche and Vielsalm. Go hiking, biking or kayaking. Or in winter: strap on the long skis and set out on a cross-country ski route from Baraque Fraiture.

De fotoos zien er gezellig uit maar in het echt is het huisje wel aan een update toe! De badkamer is erg krap langs het bad en de straal heeft weinig waterdruk. Warm is het water wel. In dezelfde badkamer staat ook de ketel, die maakt veel herrie als hij aanslaat en laat een rare geur achter in de badkamer, waar geen ventilatie is. De keuken is goed, op de afwasmachine na, geen warm water en storing in het programma. Dus maar afwachten of de vaat schoon werd. De haard werktgeod, alleen stond er nergens vermeld waar we hout konden kopen (wel dat we hetniet bij de buren mochten 'pikken') . De slaapkamers zijn ruim, bedden kraken wel en de matrassen zijn echt aan vervanging toe, je voelt de spiraalveren, dus niet echt leker geslapen. De algemene afwerking van het huisje is matig. Het huisje heeft een beetje TLC nodig om er weer goed uit te zien.

Wel een aanrader om de jaarwisseling met honden door te brengen, het is er erg rustig, geen vuurwerk. En daar ginen we voor.

Boven op baraque fraiture, dus uitzicht is prima. Wandelen kan vanuit t huisje en als er sneeuw ligt zit je op loopafstand van de piste. In een straal van 20km genoeg leuke bekende plaatsjes om te bezoeken.
