Cycling Hiking

This beautiful nature house is a former coach house that once belonged to a villa built in 1898. The house is situated in a stunning polder landscape. The cottage features a living room, kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and 4 bedrooms. The tastefully decorated living room includes a comfortable lounge sofa, a TV with Netflix, a DVD player, and a large dining table. The kitchen is fully equipped. You’ll find a gas stove, refrigerator, separate freezer, dishwasher, oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and a kettle. On the First floor, there are two bathrooms, each with a rain shower and toilet. There are four bedrooms, each with two made-up single box-spring beds. There may be room to add 1 or 2 children’s camp beds. The bedrooms are not large and have limited storage space. Pets and smoking are not allowed in the apartment.

Nature and surroundings

The nature house is situated in a rural setting in the beautiful Oldambt region of Groningen. This area is characterized by stately farmhouses built in the 19th century by wealthy grain farmers. In this area, you can fully enjoy the tranquility by going for a walk or a bike ride. If you’d rather seek out some hustle and bustle, a visit to the beautiful surrounding towns is definitely recommended. For example, head to Appingedam, Winschoten, or Bad Nieuweschans. In the Dollard, the sandbanks lie close to the coast. This is where the pups are born: it is the “nursery” of the Wadden Sea. From spring through fall, the seal-viewing platform is set up on the seawall in Termunten near the Punt van Reide. Every day at high tide, the mother seals gather with their pups at the base of the dike to rest, eat, and sunbathe—often in groups of hundreds. Here, the pups learn to swim and catch fish. A unique opportunity to spot the seals and their pups in their natural habitat without disturbing them! A one-of-a-kind location in the Netherlands that you can visit yourself.

Everything was perfect for us, including the comfortable beds.
It would be ideal for a variety of activities, but we’re cyclists and we did plenty of that.
We didn’t fill out Question 3—it was difficult for us to answer—but I’m sure those activities would be possible as well.

    Nature, peace & environment: 5 /5

It was wonderful there—both the natural surroundings and the house.
Plenty of space, both literally and figuratively.

Friendly host and hostess. An apartment with everything you need. A beautiful quiet area, where we enjoyed the 6 of us. Spacious apartment with upstairs 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms/3 toilets. We went to the nearby Landwinkel with a wide range of products. The city of Groningen can be reached quickly by car. highly recommended!!!

What a wonderful place! A spacious apartment in a very quiet area. Free view from the large garden with fine loungers, where you experience so much peace. We enjoyed walking/running in the beautiful surroundings.
