Ascension holiday

If you find yourself planning a short trip as a way to commemorate the Ascension Holiday, then look no further. Europe offers a lot of possibilities for those who are looking for ways to combine their long-awaited vacation with the Ascension holiday. And why not throw some nature in the mix as well? You can very well do so, as Europe abounds in natural wonders waiting to be explored.

We have compiled a great variety of comfortable accommodations for you to choose from. All of the properties are equipped with everything needed for an enjoyable stay, and as an added bonus they are situated in the center of picturesque nature locations suitable for an Ascension holiday adventure. If being close to nature is one of your top priorities, you will definitely enjoy yourself. An additional benefit is that some of the offerings provide an entirely contact-free stay as a precautionary measure, if required. Make no mistake – in case you ever need advice or any tips on how to make the most out of your vacation, our hosts are available to help you.

Religion and nature go hand in hand

If the above mentioned possibilities sound too good to be true, prepare to be amazed. One of our top destinations would be a monastery in the tiny Spanish town bearing the name Santo Domingo de Silos. The monastery itself is nothing short of breath-taking – its architecture is stunning, and it houses a beautifully arranged garden as well. However, if you still find yourself craving for more nature (which you will), the region has got you covered. Close by you can find the river Mataviejas, and this particular river is synonymous with truly spectacular nature. In fact, you can also get some exercise – hiking is very much possible here. The path is accessible by a bike, too, so the choice is yours.

Another option for you to enjoy the beautiful nature of Europe is actually an old pilgrim route that spans over the territory of several countries. It is known as the Via Francigena. Although it is incredibly long, just stopping by and walking for a couple of hours would guarantee amazing panoramas and a true once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Stay active

We briefly touched upon it, but let’s clarify: biking is one of our favourite pastimes for any holiday. It is great for the mind, great for the body and it helps you explore even more of the natural wonders in the region. While setting out on your own may not be great fun, there are a number of organized biking events, which you can take part in. In addition, this is also a nice way to meet like-minded people.

While on your holiday, you might also want to have a swim or two. Europe offers a great deal of amazing beaches. No, you do not need to worry about mass tourism – some of the locations are quite secluded. Who can say no to a few days of swimming and sunbathing on a quiet, small beach? Certainly not us.
