Nestled in the mountain landscape like something out of a fairy tale, our cozy cabin is located on the Hirschberg in Bizau. Here, peace, relaxation, and nature await you right on your doorstep. Built sustainably from solid wood, the cabin is situated at 790 meters above sea level and can accommodate up to 10 people. Two double bedrooms, a shared room with two three-tier bunk beds, a fully equipped kitchen-dining area with a large dining table and an additional stove, a bathroom, and two separate restrooms ensure a comfortable stay. Our handcrafted natural wood beds with freshly made linens invite you to enjoy a restful night’s sleep. Right next to the cabin, the forest and a small stream provide soothing sounds of nature. With a little luck, you might even spot some wildlife. Children can have fun in the treehouse at the edge of the forest or on the long slide.
Nature and surroundings
Well-marked hiking trails lead directly from the hut through a peaceful, less-touristy mountain landscape. Whether you’re looking for leisurely loop trails, a hike to Alpe Unterhirschberg, a climb up the Hirschberg (1,834 m), or a visit to the picturesque mountain village of Schönenbach—there’s something for everyone here. The Wendelins Chapel and the barefoot trail in Bizau are also lovely places to visit. Other scenic mountain hikes in the area lead to the Kanisfluh or the Niedere. In winter, you can explore the mountain landscape on ski tours and snowshoe hikes. When there’s enough snow, you can go sledding and bobsledding right by the lodge. The Mellau-Damüls and Diedamskopf ski areas are about 15 and 20 minutes away by car, respectively. Nearby Bad Reuthe invites you to relax at its thermal baths and sauna. For stays of 3 nights or more from May 1 through October 31, you’ll receive the Bregenzerwald & Großes Walsertal Guest Card, which grants you free access to all cable cars, public transportation, and swimming pools in the region.
